Youth Accounts

NW Plus CU believes in the importance of saving so much that we have developed three different savings accounts for those 18 and under to encourage saving.

It is our goal to help your child have a brighter future and to learn how to be an independent adult.

As an added bonus, when your child decides to attend either a community college, a university or a technical school, we offer scholarships for those heading off to college and those currently attending college. The criteria includes that your child must be a member of the credit union for more than 90 days when applying. The application is looked at and a scholarship is given for community service, a short essay and for grades.

Nickels Account

This account is for those that are 0 to 6 years of age. You can open this account with only $1 and open a certificate of deposit account for only $25. Start your child early on the savings path with the Nickels Account and watch the money grow.

Livewire Account

This account is for those that are 7 to 12 years of age. You can open a savings account with only $5 and a certificate of deposit account with only $50. Start them out young so that they can learn the importance of saving.

Hotwire Account

This account is for those that are 13 to 18 years of age. Your child can open their savings account with only $10 and their certificate of deposit with only $100. Now is the time to start thinking about a checking account, a VISA card, a car and college.
