How much does it cost to open a checking account?
All accounts require a minimum $5 deposit in a Regular Savings to activate your NW Plus CU membership. An additional $25 deposit is required to open a checking account.
How do I open a checking account?
A checking account may be opened in person at one of our six local branches, or online by pressing the “Join NW Plus CU” button.
What documents do I need to open a checking account?
You will need a current valid government-issued photo ID and either a Social Security Number (SSN) or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
What if I don’t have a Social Security number?
Individuals with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) are eligible to open NW Plus CU savings and checking accounts.
Can I open a checking account online?
Yes. Simply press the “Join NW Plus CU” button and you will be guided through the account opening process. A NW Plus CU representative will contact you if additional information is needed.
What is the monthly cost of a checking account?
NW Plus CU does not charge monthly maintenance or minimum balance fees for checking accounts. However, an account overdraft may result in a fee.
How does Early Pay work?
Early access to ACH (Automated Clearing House) deposits depends on the day the deposit information is transmitted by the sender through the ACH network. NW Plus CU deposits the funds up to 2 calendar days prior to the settlement date when funds are received.
How do I set up a direct deposit?
We are happy to provide a form that your employer can use to easily deposit into your account. We are also happy to assist with Social Security direct deposit as well.

KASASA ACCOUNTS DISCLOSURE:
To earn your rewards, the following enrollments must be in place and all transactions and activities must post and settle to your Kasasa checking account during each Monthly Qualification Cycle:
- At least 12 debit card purchases
- Be enrolled in and log into online banking
- Be enrolled in and have agreed to receive e-statements rather than paper statements
- Maintain a valid email address on record with credit union
Account transactions and activities may take one or more days to post and settle to the account and all must do so during the Monthly Qualification Cycle in order to qualify for the account's rewards.
The following activities do not count toward earning account rewards: ATM-processed transactions, transfers between accounts, debit card purchases processed by merchants and received by our credit union as ATM transactions, non-retail payment transactions and purchases made with debit cards not issued by our credit union. Transactions bundled together by merchants and received by our institution as a single transaction count as a single transaction toward the 12 transactions required to meet rewards qualifications.
"Monthly Qualification Cycle" means a period beginning the first calendar day of each month through the last calendar day of each month. Contact one of our branch service representatives for further clarification.
KASASA CASH BACK REWARD INFORMATION:
When Kasasa Cash Back qualifications are met during a Monthly Qualification Cycle, you will receive 5.00% cash back on up to a total of $250.00 debit card purchases that post and settle to the account during that cycle period. A maximum of $12.50 cash back payments may be earned per Monthly Qualification Cycle.
You will receive reimbursements up to $15.00 for nationwide ATM withdrawal fees incurred within your Kasasa Cash Back account during the Monthly Qualification Cycle in which you qualified.
When your Kasasa Cash Back account qualifications are not met, no cash back payments are made and ATM withdrawal fees are not refunded. Cash back payments and nationwide ATM withdrawal fee reimbursements will be credited to your Kasasa Cash Back account on the first business day of the next statement cycle.
KASASA CASH REWARD INFORMATION:
When your Kasasa Cash account qualifications are met during a Monthly Qualification Cycle, daily balances up to and including $25,000 in your Kasasa Cash account earn a dividend rate of 5.00% resulting in an APY of 5.12%; and daily balances over $25,000 earn a dividend rate of 0.20% on the portion of the daily balance over $25,000 resulting in a range from 5.12% to 1.18% APY depending on the account's daily balance.
You will receive reimbursements up to $15.00 for nationwide ATM withdrawal fees incurred within your Kasasa Cash account during the Monthly Qualification Cycle in which you qualified. These will be credited to your account on the first business day of the next statement cycle.
When your Kasasa Cash qualifications are not met, the dividend rate earned on the account's entire daily balance will be 0.03% resulting in an annual percentage yield of 0.03% and ATM withdrawal fees are not refunded.
Dividends will be credited to your Kasasa Cash account on the first business day of the next statement cycle.

Advertised information and rewards are based on all account qualifications being met during each cycle period. There are no recurring monthly maintenance charges or fees to open or close this account. This account is not to be used for commercial purposes. If the account is closed, you will forfeit any rewards that have not been credited to your account. Rates, rewards, and bonuses, if any, are variable and may change after account is opened without notice to you. No minimum balance is required to earn or receive the account's rewards. Rewards less than a penny cannot be distributed.
Right to Convert
We also reserve the right to convert the account to a different share draft product if the account does not meet monthly qualification requirements over 3 consecutive Qualification Cycles.
