What Is NW Plus Direct Pay?
An easy-to-use digital point-of-sale financing platform. NW Plus Direct Pay lets your customers apply for financing in minutes using their own computer, tablet, or mobile device.
What Makes NW Plus Direct Pay Different?
When you work with us, you’re working with someone local. We know the community you serve because we serve it too!
NW Plus Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative. Our goal is to strengthen the communities we serve, including businesses like yours.
My customers typically pay in cash, why should I offer them financing?
Financing can help in emergency situations, and flexible options may allow customers to get more than they originally thought they could afford. They may even add products/services when they have the flexibility to what they really want. You can increase your total sales, and your customer feels confident in their purchase.
How does offering financing increase sales?
Financing can reduce financial barriers and boost a customer’s confidence on larger purchases. This makes for a better customer experience, friend and family referrals, and a loyal customer for life.
What markets do you serve?
We specialize in the home improvement, medical and dental, and retail markets, but are always open to local merchants outside of those industries.
What is the cost for me as a Merchant?
A 3%-5% fee will be assessed on each loan depending on merchant type, and collected prior to disbursement.
Do I need to sign a contract?
There are terms and conditions merchants need to agree to, but you are not locked in to a term and can participate in the program for as long as you’d like.
What if I require partial payment up front to cover expenses?
When setting up Direct Pay, you can choose “full” or “staged” payment options. The staged payment option gives you a 50% upfront payment, with the remaining balance paid after the customer confirms the work has been completed.
How does my customer pay me?
Once work has been completed, you will send an email or text message to the customer with a link to pay.
After the customer has verified that the work has been completed to their satisfaction, they will click on the link to view and authorize the funds be paid directly to you by the credit union.
How long will it take for me to get paid?
Depending on the type of funding you choose, the total amount of funds can be disbursed within 5-7 business days after the customer has confirmed the work has been completed and signed the Certificate of Completion form.
How does my customer apply?
If a customer is interested in financing, you can send them the application link via email or text.
Once the customer clicks the link and answers a few questions, and will know within minutes if they are pre-qualified.
If the customer prequalifies, they will be presented with multiple offers. They’ll select the loan terms they prefer and continue through the application process.
From beginning to end, the whole process takes 3-5 minutes.
What does my customer need to provide when applying for a loan?
The customer will need to provide various pieces of information (e.g., monthly mortgage/rent payment, annual gross income, etc.) to see if they prequalify.
What are your interest rates?
Our rates vary by merchant type, loan term, and applicant credit tier. Call 425-297-1000 or email our lending department at [email protected] for the most recent NW Plus Direct Pay rates.
How do I become a Merchant?
All you have to do is submit an online merchant application. Underwriting typically takes 2–3 business days.
Once underwriting is complete, we'll reach out to schedule training and onboarding to make sure you’re comfortable with the Direct Pay platform prior to launch.
Will there be ongoing support?
Our commitment to your success doesn’t end at launch. We provide support through our merchant portal, and will work with you to ensure you have the marketing materials you need prior to launching the platform for customers.
