NW Plus CU Community Raised $8,500 for Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center!

Everett, WA (May 7, 2025) – NW Plus Credit Union is pleased to announce it raised $8,500 for Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center with the help of its current and new members during Youth Month in April.

For every new member that joined in April, including all* new SMART youth accounts, NW Plus CU donated $50 to Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center, which provides safety, justice, and healing to victims of child abuse and neglect.

Additionally, all six NW Plus CU branches located in Burlington, Everett, Marysville, Murphy’s Corner, Stanwood, and Smokey Point offered donation bins where members could drop items to help to fulfill the Dawson Place Amazon Wish List.

Overall, current NW Plus CU members donated $2,712, including one large single donation of $1,000 from a member at the Stanwood branch. Additionally, $4,900 was raised from the new account openings for a total of $7,612. NW Plus CU decided to round up the donation to an even $8,500.

“The generosity of our membership is inspiring,” said Torrie Ramos, CEO of NW Plus Credit Union. “Giving our youth an opportunity to live happy, healthy lives is one of the most powerful ways that NW Plus can invest in a brighter, stronger future for all."

NW Plus CU believes that good money habits start early, and Youth Month was the perfect time to lay that solid foundation at a local credit union. In April, for every new SMART youth savings account for kids 18 and under opened at NW Plus CU with the help of a parent, received up to $25 in free matching money.  Additionally, each child got to choose an egg from the “magic basket” for a chance to receive an additional $10, $15 or $20 in matching money deposited directly into their account.
