Everett, WA (June 10, 2025) – NW Plus Credit Union has worked with the Skagit Valley College Foundation to create and fund two scholarships at Skagit Valley College. The “NW Plus Credit Union Industrial Technology and Transportation Opportunity Scholarship” is a three-year commitment starting in 2025. It will award two $2,000 scholarships to second year students pursuing a degree or certificate within SVC’s Industrial Technology and Transportation program.

"This scholarship is about creating real opportunities," said Torrie Ramos, CEO, NW Plus CU. "The students in this program have big dreams of working in industries like automotive, marine, or manufacturing. NW Plus is honored to invest in their future."

Supporting students in these hands-on, technical careers is a strong match for NW Plus CU, which greatly values the hard-working people in its communities, a reflection of many of its members. The potential career pathways for scholarship recipients in this SVC program include automotive technology, marine maintenance technology, and welding technology. The jobs that will be filled by these graduates are important to ensure the community thrives.
